ViFX Acquires Delta Software

Auckland (New Zealand) – 31stJanuary 2012 –VMware Premier Partner and leading Asia Pacific virtualisation specialist, ViFX, announced today it has acquired IT Service Management (ITSM) experts Delta Software. Founded in New Zealand in 2007 to focus on offering virtualisation, enterprise-storage and cloud-infrastructure services and solutions to organisations across Asia Pacific, ViFX has seen rapid growth and also maintains operations in Singapore and Australia.
In addition to providing services to New Zealand's largest enterprises and public sector organisations, ViFX regularly undertakes large virtualisation, storage and cloud computing projects in Australia and Asia Pacific.
ViFX Managing Director Geoff Olliff says the acquisition of Delta Software, to be executed as a buy-out of Delta Software by ViFX, is the next evolution in its strategy to become the pre-eminent virtualisation, enterprise-storage and cloud-infrastructure consultancy in the Asia Pacific region.
"We looked to acquire Delta Software because of their proven Service Management experience and subject matter expertise. Adding modern Service Management capability is a purposeful evolution and a natural business extension for ViFX," Olliff says.
"Delta Software's expertise complements our existing offerings in the service management components of cloud-infrastructure solutions. They provide the experience, IP, systems, processes and expertise that enable organisations to build on the cost-saving and service benefits that cloud-infrastructure delivers."
Under the terms of the acquisition, Delta Software founder and Managing Director, David Gandar, will take the role of General Manager of the newly formed ViFX Service Management practice.
"We've been focused for some years on providing the expertise and experience needed to help companies make the transition towards an automated, resilient, services-based IT model," Gandar says.
"Back in the mid-2000s we focused on integration and deployment of a service management tool called InfraEnterprise from Australian Infra Corporation. This has now been acquired by VMware and has become VMware Service Manager (vSM). So we've been working with this technology, and helping customers deploy advanced IT service management solutions since this capability was first available."
Olliff says the addition of Delta Software's ITSM capability enables ViFX to provide a complete end-to-end service for companies looking to move to a fully virtualised, cloud-based IT-as-a-Service architecture, including planning, design, implementation, training and support.
"Having launched the ViFX Service Management practice, we have a unique position in the ITaaS / cloud-infrastructure market by being able to offer true end-to-end capability for enterprise customers," Olliff says.
